Heart of Darkness Rebound
About Chloé Cooper Jones
AWARD-WINNING WRITER, MEMOIRIST, REBINDER
Chloé Cooper Jones is a writer, journalist, and professor at Columbia University. Jones is a two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist, and has been awarded the Whiting Creative Nonfiction Grant and the Howard Foundation Grant from Brown University.
"This simple story becomes infinitely more complex when we consider how innovative and ahead of its time it was stylistically and politically."
- Chloé Cooper Jones
Jones has read and taught Conrad's Heart of Darkness countless times over the years. Initial encounters with the book left her a bit cold. During the writing of her PhD dissertation, though, she worked with a professor who "unlocked the nuances and complex gifts of Conrad's masterpiece." She has attempted to pass on these gifts to her students over the years, and is now sharing her hard-earned insights with you on Rebind.
Professor Jones is an ideal companion as you read Heart of Darkness. She unveils new dimensions of the novel by helping you understand how it is informed by Conrad's own life and experiences. Read Heart of Darkness like never before with Chloé Cooper Jones, only on Rebind.
